Assignment 2 -Software Selection Form
Currently our district does not use a software selection form. With a one person tech department who is overworked, this type of form is seen to be time consuming. After looking over the form and reading about it's benefits, I do feel strongly that it would be beneficial to take the time and complete the form. This form would allow our tech coordinator to organize the purchases made for the district. It would keep administration and the school board well informed and also give them an idea of how and why the software is necessary. Finally, after filling out a form, the tech coordinator may see something that is missing and may decide to continue looking for a more suitable product which in the end would greatly benefit the district and it's employees.

ReplyDeleteI totally a gree with you. After reading chapter 2 reading,reading about the software selection forms. Now, we know what the benficial from useing the forms for all members in the school or district. I think here is the technology coordinator jobs.His responsibility is to help, choose, and purchase the effective educational software. Also, Teaching and increaseing all members knowledge.
Lastely, the better choosing and selection , it will lead to the perfect results and success.
I have to agree with your remark that the forms would allow your tech coordinator to organize the purchases. The selection form lends itself to make the tech coordinator's job easier especially when they might not have support staff. In a one man technology department the form would allow other members of the district to become involved. Yes the coordinator would have to read through the forms. However, if the staff utilized the form in the correct manner then the coordinator would actually save time.
ReplyDeletei agree with everyones comments here. It is a good idea to use these forms because it allows for the district to see what types of software are available. It gives IT people to determine which software is good enough for the district.
